Proud to be industry leaders
LAR, headquartered in Manchester, operates both nationally and internationally, undertaking projects across diverse sectors such as higher education, healthcare, governmental, retail & leisure, manufacturing, heritage, and utilities.
We function as either a specialist sub-contractor or principal contractor, focusing on asbestos removal, land remediation, mercury removal, and soft strip projects.
Our three Company Directors bring over 90 years of combined experience, enabling us to successfully complete projects valued up to £4 million. Our solid reputation and capabilities have secured us places on numerous high-profile frameworks.
Health and safety are paramount at LAR, evidenced by our extensive list of licenses, accreditations, and professional memberships.

Contributing to a better tomorrow
LAR is committed to supporting the regions in which we work through charitable work and partnerships.
The LAR Charity Bike Ride featured two routes through the Cheshire Countryside - one 81.6km and a shorter 52.6km route. Both planned to facilitate all skill levels and capabilities.
Following the success of the previous LAR organised charity bike ride, this event (as part of the ARCA Charity Week) comprised of LAR staff, partner organisations and clients, led by Oceania Road Champion, Richard Lang and Triple Olympic medallist Chris Newton.
All funds raised in support of Mesothelioma UK, the Indee Rose Trust as well as in memory of one of LAR's own Site Supervisors who sadly passed prior to the event.
Through our affiliation with Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we volunteered to provide assistance to their "Lost Little Ones" campaign, which involved the refurbishment of Leighton Hospitals' baby bereavement suite.
This suite is designed to provide a comfortable, non-clinical space for bereaved parents to spend time with their baby away from the labour ward.
LAR supplied two operatives to remove and dispose of siporex wall paneling throughout the suite, free of charge.
In Greater Manchester we assisted 'Hattersley Projects Community Garden' who are a community project set up in 2019. Run by volunteers, they provide a safe space for the community to enjoy gardening on a number of family plots.
Keen to help foster a sustainable community LAR helped by providing a free inspection, safe removal and disposal of fly tipped asbestos cement, allowing them get back to fostering a vibrant and sustainable community through the shared love of gardening
Each year, LAR supports Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas by donating gifts to children and their families who are at risk of going without during the holiday season.
The LAR team puts in a huge effort to ensure that children in our local community have something to open on Christmas Day.

Recognised for our commitment to quality and safety
LAR has a strong record of awards and memberships, reflecting our commitment to excellence and safety.
We have received several awards from the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA), including the Gold Training Award for several years and the Gold Site Audit Award for 2024, marking 14 consecutive years of achieving this high standard. Additionally, we frequently receive ‘Contractor of the Month’ awards from some of our key clients such as Kier, Seddon, and recent nominations from Robertson and Morgan Sindall.
Our Contracts Director has served on the ARCA Governing Council since 2001 and chaired the ARCA Audit Committee since 2016. LAR’s Managing Director is a Fellow of The Asbestos Removal Management Institute (AMI) as well as sitting on the North West Construction Safety Group.
